For my next MilSurplus rifle i cant decide

either this .. a Bren semi auto

or this a belt fed semi auto RKP


decisions decisions.....  both will cost about the same  money wise

patm41 - go for the RKP, unless you want to begin reloading British 303s for that Bren.  Overall I think the RKP is the better weapon.  The Bren has its qualities, but nothing keeps ticking away like those Rooskie designs and, the ammo is both a lot cheaper and can be used in a lot of your other stuff....  Mikey.

I'm the opposite of mikey. I say go for the Bren. It's a classic and a great LMG, even in semi-auto.  But you need some of those "banana" magazines for it though.

I'm not sure what these go for but the Browning BAR at Ohio Ordnance Works is another one to consider but the two other browning belt feds sure get my vote too the 30 and the 50 Ma duce.       BigBill

Clips are a whole lot easier to load and manage than belts!!!!
Unless the ruskie comes with a belt loader!
But I would say go for the belt fed (Have fun for longer between
reloads) I would bet that the Brit. model is more accurate though.
Tough choice!  I personally would take the money
and buy something a little less "visable" for lack of a better way of saying it.  Imagine getting pulled over by the local Constabulary on the way
home from a nice day of shooting and them seeing that in your back seat!
Semi-auto or not, You are probably not going to have a pleasant afternoon explaining it.

But S.Sumner a MaDuce would sure look pretty mounted on my rollbar of my '53 CJ3b jeep???  But nowadays with all the homeland security going on I guess its best if things are kept hidden and out of site because they don't know who is who??  But RB Rooson is right too because you can buy a lot of $100 or less fun guns too.  I'd still like to own that full auto M14 I shot.                      BigBill

Hey thanks for the complement!! believe it or not i do have some $100.00
guns also... from old winchester single shots ,, to a class3 weapon
there all fun,,,  but i try to buy guns that that are different that not many people have.. not as collector items but shooters...I do like military weapons from europe ..combloc origan ...  with alot of eastern europiean
nations going to nato standards different weapons will be on the surplus
market .. some cheap  some expensive.... but  collectable shooters to me
as of now i have a Polish PMKS AK 47 on order... not may people have these... just being different here  and still having fun    thats the main thing....
