My idea for a perfect two gun wildcat battery....

6.5-06 for the light to medium stuff, and .338-06 for the medium to heavy stuff. Build them both in classic stainless M70 Winchesters with laminated stocks. Scope both with 2.5-8X scopes and go hunting.........

Two gun battery?  Heresy I say.  My wife thinks I only need a 1 gun battery that costs less than $50.  It's hard to believe I've been married to her for 10 years and she doesn't know better.  Limited to 2 wildcats: a 30-06 Ack Imp or 300 Hawk for bullets from 150 - 180 and either a 338-06 or 35 Whelen Ack Imp (or the Hawk versions) for bullets from 200 - 250.  Now if I could pick 3, it would be something in 25 cal (for 90 - 120 gr bullets and the above mentioned 06 based wildcates.  This would cover the gamut from varmints to antelope to deer to elk to moose to big bears.  Interesting thread.

Two gun only? - agreed that it's heresy (I have something like 34).  BUT I just can't leave well enough alone, if you know what I mean.  I am contemplating saving my money to get the pair built.

I'd get a H-S Precision switch barrel in 280 AI and the other barrel in .411Hawk. Take care of all my needs from deer and antelope to cape buffalo. They are one neat little package. RKBA! :P

Your choices sound good to me. If I had the money I'd like to make a 6.5 wsm and a 338 wsm. Just because I like short action rifles.
If I was a horse, they'd have shot me!
