6 " .44spl.  Anybody familiar with this gun? Found a tempting deal. No I'm not recoil sensitive, just thought it would be a great plinker.

Totin'

I purchased my 441 (4") about 5 years ago now if I remember correctly.  I have never been sorry.  The .44 Special is a great round.  If you use factory or re-load to factory or slightly less, you won't need a spotting scope to check your shooting.  Just look at the daylight through the holes at 25 yds.  I haven't shot a .38 special in many years, but I believe that the recoil is slightly greater.  If you load your own and want to take it with you as a sidearm while hunting (or your hunting gun) the noise and recoil become "authoritative" as you approach SAMMI maximums.

If you reload, the cases seem to last forever.  Mine likes 240 gr semi-wadcutters best.  200 gr "cowboy" bullets do not seem as accurate.  The only regret (and not a big one) is that the 441 is a five shot.

Also, my factory action is smooth and even double action shooting is easy.

I, also, got a 4" 441 about five years ago and it is my favorite handgun. Can be handloaded at casual plinking levels or pumped -up a bit for some hunting applications. Mine is particularly fond of Hornady XTP bullets.

Get it...you'll be well-pleased. Let us know.
