Cartridge adapters
« on: June 05, 2004, 06:07:16 AM »
Has anyone used the cartridge adapters that convert .223 to 22 Hornet or 22LR?  How well do they work and do you see any accuracy problems?  Where can they be purchased?  I'm particularly interested in the 22 Hornet.  I've read that the Hornet is pretty sweet and I already have the 223 so was thinking an adapter might be a nice cost savings.

I tried one of them in a 223/22lr cal. the gun was nowhere near as accurate with the adaptor. It was really inaccurate! But remember, it has a long smoothbore section toget to the rifling.Ihope it works better for you.
you also had to take the adapter out each time to reload it,this gets to be a pain.

If you'll use the search engine you'd see this is another topic that has ran the gaunlet here several times.   Here's just a recent one:

Thanks for the help guys.  It sounds pretty hit and miss to me and if they don't hit, I'll be disappointed so think I will pass on the adapters.  Good input.
