thanks for thinking  about  me1  Ive  been  real busy in the bush  Trying  to  think  of  new  ways  to hunt pigs.  ive  been  experimenting  with  differnet light sourses mainly optronics night blastwers  a 3.50 portable lantern fromwal-mart  and  a night light attatched to the feeder. my  friend  thought  of  the  system  and  it  is  lights from academy,  the underwater type  that  illuminate green attatched  to  a  12 volt battery.  works great.  i  shot  me  a  good  boar 2 fridays  ago  from about 15 yards. the more i hunt these  the  more  i realize  they are smart!!!!  and  they  use  the  wind  to  there advantage.  and  where  i  am hunting now if  they  smell the  slightest human scent  they will  avoid feeders at all  cost.  i  have  been  hunting  the  moon  phases  and  in  my  opinion  i  have  my  best  luck just  before  the  full  moon, although  this  last  one  i  killed  was  shot  at  2.35 am coming to a feeder. ive  tried  every bait imaginable dug holes used combos of beer differnet flavors  kool-aid yeast sugar beer.  after  all  the corn ive soured and  all  i  have  to  say  i beilev  just  plain corn works as well  as any.  if  there are pigs in the area  keep it heavily baited, if not  they will  wander away.  i am doing a little day hunting in the bottoms  now trying  to stalk up on them  for  me  it  is nearly impossible  it  is so  thiock here in east tx  where  i hunt.  i  did  manage  to  jump 3 the other day  but  they  were  to  fast for  me.  i  have  ben  invited  to  try and  kill  a  big  ole  boar  that  has  been  caught  walking  the  creek line  at  a  ranch  where  i  hunt  the  rancher  has  told  me  about  the tracks  and  all  so  i  will  investigate  tomorrow  morning  and  start  baiting for him  i  know  the  ranch  well   so i  should  have  an oppurtunity  to  get him.   i  have  been  playing  with  a  GPS unit  now  and  it  sure  has  helped  me in the woods ill  keep  you  posted  so  far  since  september  i  have  taken  a  total of 17  off  this  lease  just  by hunting alone had  3  in  traps

Howie,
I was getting worried about you cause you hardly ever miss a day of
posting. Glad you are ok and out there giving them h---!  Just wish i was in that area. Haven't spent any time in that part of the world. I did do a job in Baton Rouge La, and that was a long time ago, actually the name of the place was La Plaz,  between Baton Rouge and New Orleans.
Well Howie, Take care of your self..........Joe........................................
