Just bought a HK-4 last night and was wondering if there's anything peculiar I should know about it?

That HK-4 pistol is a great item. A shooting buddy had one and we shot it extensively.

Did you get it in .380 ACP (9mm short) or .32 ACP?

Did you get the .22 LR conversion kit?

The only peculiar thing I can think of is that the chamber is fluted and leaves distinctive marks on fired cases.

I got it in a 380. It was in an estate sale and the gun appears to be in excellant condition. The serial no. is in the 3000 range so it would have to be one of the early production models. I believe they made 12400 from 1964 to 1984. I hope to get a box of shells this weekend and give it a try.

Nice little gun. I made the mistake on passing one up a few yrs back that had the .22 kit with it also.

Thanks for the HK site-very interesting. This is my first HK, not only is the gun in beautiful shape, the price I paid for it,$250, makes it quite the deal for me. I bought a box of shells today and expect to shoot it sometime this weekend.
