Are Heritage manuf. revolvers any good. I know they don't cost much. but I am sick & tired of people judging guns based on how much they paid for them. My wife would like a SA revolver, maybe in 22 or 22 Magnum.  Don't have the 3-400.00 to spend on a Ruger, but can swing a Heritage. They seem to have a good guarantee.  Thanks for any help.

Probably not a thing wrong with them. I have not owned one but I have seen several that have been around for a while. Dealer over in my area had two in glasstop wood boxes with some WW ammo to boot. One had laminated grips and looked pretty good.

I bought the Heritage Rough Rider .22 LR w/extra mag cylinder.
Steel Frame model for the extra weight.
Have killed ground squirrels, and rabbits and snakes with it. No problem.Handles real nice..
I use the snake shot for what I have shot so far. LR or Mag would go to far if I missed.

They do not feel very well built to me. Loose, flimsy, cheap etc... I would rather have a used ruger if I were looking for a .22 revolver.

I just bought a used Ruger Single Six 22/22mag for $200 in like new condition.  I have not owned a Heritage but after a cursory inspection, it looks to be patterned after the old aluminum frame Colt Scout .22 (with the addition of the safety).  The Scout was a fine shooting gun, wish I still had mine but I will own another some day.  I've thought about trying the Heritage but the turn off has been the safety.  I understand the need of it and it is probably a good idea when training the Grandkids.  But it is right there on the recoil shield where you see it all the time!  Wish there was a way to remove it and smooth out that area.  Part of the appeal of the single actions has always been the look, feel, and ballance of the guns.  This just spoils the looks of it.  Just my 2cts.  44 Man

I just picked up another 32 H&R man, Like i need another pistol, I checked with my bird dog and she said oh well, If you just gotta have it go ahead but its gonna cost you some more of them tasty treats. She is almost as bossy as a wife but a lot more forgiving.

I have one and mine is a POS. It has been sent back to the factory twice and it now resides in my trash pile. I bought one with both a .22/.22mag clyinders. The sight picture was over 6 inches left and 8 inches low (non adjustable) It was sent back because the trigger return spring broke 3 times. Mine is a cheap hunk of metal not worth the $125 I spent. If anyone is ever in East TN you can come by and have that completely worhtless POS. Save your money and buy a Ruger, used if you have to. These pistols are cheap, soft metal and unreliable. Biggest waste of money since pet rocks...sincere about that man.

Edgewood, closer to CountyLine or NM217, about a mile north of Mile marker 184.

Went thru Fence Lake about 4 years ago. Visited Ramah, during that time. El Morro Nat Pk. Caretaker of the Museum in Ramah opened up for me on an off day.   I'm not far behind you in age. 67.   Have a good friend live in Tucumcari.  Spent a week at the Lake, didn't catch anything. I'm a lousy fisherman. They travel around in schools all the time, makes them smarter than me.  :-)

Received your second email, also the first about return.

I replied to the email address.

Have lived here since Oct 87, in NM since 74, except for a year in Turkey.

Man..... Don't hold back, just tell us how you feel!!   You are right.. Best to save for a better one like the Ruger and your grandkids will still be shooting it.. I wish I still had the first Blackhawk .22 I got in 1967. It was a 4 5/8 one which I had to sell to fund a speeding ticket fine. I used to lay up on the hill over a stock tank in North East Texas and hone my pistolero skills shooting down at blackbirds on the cat tail reeds... You can always get more at pawn for the better one if you get in the tights. cbagman
