Winchester Model 12 barrel bead
« on: June 09, 2004, 07:40:59 AM »
I have a trivial question for you shotgun experts.  On the old Winchester model 12, plain barrel shotgun, was the front bead threaded in or was it just a knurled post pressed into a hole.  I want to replace it with a different bead and would like to remove it properly. It's better to ask and get the straight scoop. :?

The front sight bead of Winchester M12 shotgun barrels I've worked on were all threaed in.
It's a real fine thread... something like 2-56 so you have to be real careful not to strip it.
