Getting gear from Parking Lot to the Bench
« on: June 09, 2004, 10:23:56 AM »
I've been making minium of two trips from parking to the shooting bench for getting all my gear on location. Maybe I need to customize a Dollie or Wagon ............. hate going back to the lot when I could be setting or pulling targets - LOL.

Do I have too much gear - LOL.
Do I need a friend - LOL.

Any pictures of a Dollie or Wagon set up to handle packing gear over hill and dale ( Dale - Lingthwise hollow in the plannets surface ) ?

Sinclair International has been selling this one.  I have seen alot of the BR and SASS guys using this one.

I definitely know what you mean, by making two trips.  UGH

A long time ago when I was shooting service rifle competition and we had to move up and back for the stages, I made a cart from old pull golf cart.  Just pick one up for about $5 or less at a thrift store and then rig it to handle your gear.

Rugged Gear Shooting carts are the way to go. It is a converted 3 wheeled baby  stroller style but very well built. Sporting clays shooters are the ones that use this the most walking through the woods, but it is perfect for Silhouette use. Take a look at the web site....  http://www.ruggedgear.com/
No more multiple trips as this cart carrys everything you need. It isn't cheap but convenience never is.

Short of cutting down on the stuff, I am using a Craftsman 24 in truck tote (item 00959027000) for the last few months.  Its working out well, having wheels and telescoping handle.  Think $50 is what is cost me.

Usually stack my lunch cooler on top, and wheel the whole thing in one trip.

9INAROW:  I gotta look that one up quick - right now I'm on the trail of a collapsible alum dolly ..... cost a few though.

OK ..... going to have one of these. I'm packing Sand Bags, Ammo, Spotting Scope, Cleaning Gear, Targets, Tools, Rags, Gater Aid, Lunch and more ( Carry the gun(s) ). Pathway is rocks ... will still need colapsable Dolly because of knocked off rotor cup.

9INAROW:   THANKS FOR THAT...... just picked it up a Sears, they gave me $10 off because I had to stand around over there in their confusion - I was handling it well, just their idea - LOL. It's perfect !!!! has two large wheels and a pull out handle that turns it into a tote ( I'll carry it over the stoned area of the Range enterence ). I like it ........ my gear is in it already. The wind is in some serious trouble ~~~~
