Winchester Model 75 T

I am new to this site and would like to see if anyone is interested in the Winchester 75 T. I recently purchased it to shoot with the peep sights. I have been trying to become familiar with this style rimfire. I'm a big CZ rimfire fan.

I have an older Winchester 75 and have shot it extensively.

Excellent target rifle, and was formerly the less expensive choice of target shooters with performance nearly as good as the Winchester 52.

What size groups do you get at 100 yards?

Without trying too hard, I can reliably shoot quarter-sized groups with several brands of standard velocity .22 LR.

:-)   Yep, the Winny 75-T can shoot.
Here's a pic of mine with two 100 yard targets, shot using Winchester Dynapoint ammo, with an old Weaver (El Paso) 6X scope.

I have been shooting "quarter" size groups at 25 yards, with the peep sight. Is that a Redfield rear sight in the picture. It looks like the one on my rifle. The front sight is not marked. It is tube-like with insert. The rifle was made in the 1950's. I have been shooting at 100 yards with my Lux CZ (scoped), but no bragging rights. I am not planning on putting a scope on the 75 T, so that will save me the embarrassment of trying to top your shooting skills. Thanks for the replys !!

Is there anything you can do to improve the trigger? Also, are there any aftermarket triggers that fit the 75T?

Don, I agree. I think my 75T must has have sat for many years. I did use the trigger adjustment. TO ADJUST TRIGGER PULL -Adjust sear spring seat screw (located at the back of the magazine holder) ...back out for lighter pull. I have cleaned and lubricated a couple of times and this seems to have helped. My next idea is trip to local gunsmith. He has smoothed the triggers on both my CZ's and has made a big improvement. Might have him put in new springs, over fifty years has probably put a set in them. I have seen parts listed in Numrich Gun Parts....

I took my 75 T to the local gunsmith (as mentioned in earlier post), he shimmed the trigger, cleaned up the inners, adjusted the spring  (2# trigger pull) he could make it less, but said to try it that way first .... ...

Took it out to the range and at fifty yards with peep sights got some in the same hole and kept most in quarter to half inch zone. I was using some bulk Federal ammo, things tightened up when I changed to  the PMC Scoremaster.

Being everything about the 75 Winchester is new to me....Here is some information you may already know. The gunsmith said the front band serves also as an aide to stabilizing the barrel. I had mine cranked down pretty tight, he said he set it about midway. He suggested that I try different adjustments when I want to fine tune it. I'm going to try some other ammo and band adjustments next time out.

[/b]Trigger Shoe I took my rifle in and the gunsmith shimmed my trigger and that took care of side-side movement. Took it to the range and had another idea. I had luck years ago, using a trigger shoe...put one on the 75 T and it made a great improvement on perceived trigger pressure...
