i heard some talk about this a while back and darn it looks good , almost make me think 7mm mag . sounds like the best long range whitetail round . was there any problems with it or was there just not enough people willing to do it?

mitchell.
From what I learnt from the 25-06 Ultra. The biggest benefit turning the 280 Rem into the Ai version is preventing forward brass flow and case stretching.
With near max loads accuracy will suffer and cases will stick even with polished chambers. The Ai would be best in H&R rifles with the slowest powders such as Retumbo IMR 7828 and bullets not heavier than 140gr loaded to to stiff 280Rem.
The Ai would be a lot more manageable as far as hand loading is concerned but not to reach 7mm Mag velocities. Fred M.
