XS Scout Scope Mount Base ?
« on: June 11, 2004, 06:17:29 PM »
I am thinking about putting a XS scout scope mount base on my Marlin 1894FG.  I have never seen one locally and would need to order it.  My concern is whether the mount contacts the barrel between the dovetail and the front scope mount screws.  I would think that if it did it would damage the blueing on the barrel.  This concerns me in case I ever want to take it back off.  Is anyone using one of these and can give me some info.

Thanks.

Bullseye - I've got the XS scope mounts on my 1895G and it mounts using the front scope base holes and the dovetail for the rear sight. I don't believe that it will damage the bluing, at least I haven't noticed it so far. I'm very happy with my setup. Good luck... CEJ
