Just how satisfied are you with your barrels accuracy? I am getting pretty serious about getting one of these barrels but I understand that the groove diameter runs about .379 in these barrels, which would be period correct, but these days .375 is the more common groove diameter of rifles in this caliber range and jacketed bullets larger than .375 are scarce. That may not matter as a custom mold can be had for something on the order of $70.00.

I've eyed one of those myself but shied away for the reasons you stated....also I don't do any casting

Beartooth Bullets carries them up to .378".

Boer bullets in WA makes a jacketed 220gr bullet for the .379 dia. Saw a review of it some time back and it got high marks for uniformity.

Midway has a wide selection of cast bullets for the 38-55, out to .380 or .381. My shootin buddies gun is extremely accurate at 100 yds with cast bullets.

The BC 38-55 target has been on my list as well, but have not seen any groups pictured or heard any bragging. Don't even think any cards were sent in during the last PM for the NEF long-guns.
Over the the last two years I would say my firearm purchases have been greatly influenced by the reports given by users of these guns. The Old H&R talk forum had a category just for the BC rifles. Graybeards hasn't seen enough interest I guess to revive that category.
