not to drag this thread out any longer but if we swore off all chinese stuff we would not have:
98% of our clothes (good for guys if you are a female !!)
personal computers (bad for most businesses and graybeard !)
sneakers (really bad for people who wear sneakers)
the list goes on.
now before anyone calls me a commie, i too distrust and hold distain for the evil abusive conniving yellow bellied communist chinese government. i think communism sucks the life force out of people.
but, they use our raw materials, we take advantage of their labor, who is paid a bowl of rice and a promise to not to get shot per day. american companies (probably ones that you own stock in or invest in) ship using an unending fleet of tankers, raw and semi-raw materials to china, and on the flip side, take finished goods back to us at a price well below what they could be sold for if assembled in the USA. that's a fact that will not change until the chinese people start buying all that stuff they are building for us. then we will have to find another country to abuse.
sadly enough, harley davidson, the maker of my fine motorcycle, has 100% of its' clothing and accessories made in china.
harley davidson !!??!!
so given the logic of this thread, harley owners are commie lovers !
yes, they say china has missles pointed at us, so did the russians. in the final analysis, those missiles proved either non-existant or non-functional. i can't believe that a country of peasants could come close to being a military threat to us, missiles or not. they are just like the old soviet union, waiting to collapse like a house of cards. if i had to guess, every grunt in the chinese army is about as motivated as the standard russian dude was back in mr gorbechev's days.
my last point is that a good friend of mine bought a pardner pump. he heard it was made in china but based on finances, he made his choice to purchase one. it was $150 or so at a local gun store. my friend is an honest hard working guy who has to watch his pennies because he doesn't command a huge income, he has responsibilities too, kids need clothes, braces, etc. but he wanted a shotgun to shoot birds with me. he can't afford an 870 and i wouldn't be shooting birds with him if he didnt get his pardner pump.
so before we blast people, and american companies who use foreign labor, we should examine our own stock portfolio's and houses to see how much chinese stuff you (we) have. i'll bet no one on this board has more american made stuff (guns) than chinese made products in their house !
i shot the pardner pump, it patterns good, feeds and cycles well, and cost what was within the budget of a good friend of mine who is not a commie.
