Anyone have the new Kimber yet?

Just wondering if anyone has shot the new Kimber 1911 rimfire and what their thoughts of it are?

I opted for the Marvel conversion. The Marvel has a better accuracy guarantee and if you already have a 1911 frame you are in buisness at a lesser cost.

It doesn't look good on paper. One major thing is the weight of the gun. It weighs about a pound less than a 1911 45.  This makes it a different gun and not a good choice for using a 22 as a practice for 45 shooting.  The Marvel gun is the best conversion.

I'd love to have one, just because!  BUT the budget says I can afford two Ruger 22/45s or one Kimber.  Or a used Ruger 22/45 AND a used Single Six or T.C. barrel.  Hummmmm.  Sorry Kimber.

I totally agree - picked one up at the gun show and felt like I was handling a toy. Feels ridiculously light. I'll stick with my Smith 41 and Ruger MKIIs. The Marvel conversion seems to be highly praised by nearly everyone.

Hey guys, don't knock light weight.  That's a good thing when you get past middle age.  That's why I like my Bearcat so much!  44 Man
