« on: June 14, 2004, 10:18:05 AM »
:D Hi:

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what brand of scope to buy for a Marlin Model 60?

                                                                       Thanks,

Choosing a scope has to be done by the shooter themselves.I personally like a 4X or a 6X,32mm or 40mm.I have a Swift 6X40 that is very clear.I have an older Bushnell Sportview 4X32 AO that is also very clear. Both of these were under $100.00.Go to a larger gun shop and look at scopes and see what you like. What I like might not be what you like.

When you get it set up try out the new silhouette rifle game made just for it!  You can look at the basic format under the handgun silhouette section.  It is in handgun cause there will be a handgun game as well.  It will be fun, inexpensive and a great family game  :D

I put a red dot on mine and it shoots great.  Quick target acquisition is a plus and it enables my model 60 to shoot as accurately as when it wears a regular scope.  I am so happy with the Tasco red dot that I left it on the rifle.  Haven't hunted with it yet but I imagine that is where the red dot will really shine.
