Well last nigth I went into a bait stand up north with little hopes of seeing anything. The stand on the last trip up looked hardly undistrubed. After about 3 hours, I looked up and spotted a color phase bear and a black bear about 30 yards out.
In time the color phase came in but it looked just to small. He was dead if I want him but I passed.
The blackie came in next. Bigger but no trophy. She spooked once but came back in, in about 15 minutes. My bug dope was not of their liking as I think it was spooking the bears. I watched for about 15 nimutes before deciding on the last night of baiting, to take the shot.
First chance for the new BowTech to do something. The arrow hit perfectly and within 20 seconds the bear was dead, within 30 yards.
I processed the bear, packed things up and cold not lift the pack on my back. So I raised it up to a tree step and hung it on that. Turned around, and backed into it. Ugh! If I leaned forward I could walk, barely. It was a long 1/4 mile out to the truck and my heart held together through the pounding.
More pictures to take and more fleshing to do.
