Many years ago I ran accross Trappers model 9 shot I believe it was a H&R gun. A top break with adjustable rear sights. A S&W K-22 was the only gun that came close as far as being accurate. Is there anything on the market close to the these old timers?

I have used both, in fact I still have the S&W .22 - I have been having fun with the S&W 617 10 shot 8+" - I resisted the newer stuff as long as I cound. I do not regret buying the 617 - it is an excellent handgun and very accurate - how accurate? You will need to get some input with someone that is more interested in that sort of thing rather than just the fun/field factor.

Jim n Iowa, I'm going to assume you are joshing when you ask if there are any handguns available today that can compete with those you mentioned.

I'm not going to make a fool out of myself by attempting to list all the good ones and besides, I'm not so sure you aren't just trying to get something started.  If you are astute enough to have found this website, then I believe you are well aware of the many great shootin irons available today.

Most rimfire handguns manufactured today (By top name manufacturers
that is) are more accurate than most human hands can shoot them!
Normally it is not the gun that misses the target, It is the
person squeezing the trigger. I still always like to blame the gun though :D

Magooch take a pill, read the thread, its simple enough. I am not looking for a more accurate pistol, but one that resembles these old revolvers in looks and accuracy, and I call upon this board for their input not neg vibes.

I still have an old H&R Trapper but it is not a top break, I do have three of the H&R Sportsman which are top break and are nine shot. all are more accurate than I am, however the three Sportsman models have adjustable sights. The trapper is fixed sight. The one Sportsman I like the best for target shooting is a single action only model, the other two are single or double. All have given me good service for many years but H&R no longer makes these models. You should be able to pick one up at some of the gun shows. The Trapper I have is very light weight and has an octagonal barrel and is( as its name suggests) ideal to carry in a pack while running a trap line. Wish you all the best in your search.
