What is the biggest Javalina you have ever seen or know about ? I was talking to a feller who said he thought they got to about 400 pounds. I have a problem with that,, I seems to me they might get to about 100 pounds. I need someone to set me straight, Thanks a bunch....Joe............

50 lbs would be a monster. most I have take were closer to 30 lbs. Back in the late 70's I was watching a group north of Wilcox, Az while Coyote trapping that had a monster in it. The farmer got it during hunting season and it went ofver 60 lbs and was called the state record.

Just as i thought, A guy was at my house last night and was telling these wild storys about the big javalins in Silver City,NM. One was supposed to have Mauled a lady pretty bad and was going on about how big it was.
Well I used to live in Silver and ran a trap line there for years and never saw a javalina that i thought was over thirty pounds. I think I will get him over here tonite and let him read this post, Thanks for the reply, Just what I needed, Have a good one................Joe.....................................

In the 1970's, I killed a boar that dressed just under 70 lbs. He was noticeably larger than the others in the pack so the average is probably 40-50. No way they go over 100, IMHO.
