Not a darn thing wrong with the 10mm except it's a little hard to get into a decent pistol to shoot it with. *smiles*

The 45 ACP is a great cal. The way I look at it is, having a bunch of different calibers allows me to justify to my wife having a bunch of different guns!!!! :grin:

I agree, the .45 acp is the best round made...other than the .357 magnum, which is the most versatile round made, ...other than the .44 magnum, which is the best hunting round made,...other than the .22 rimfire, which is the best all-around round made,...other than the .38 special, ...which is the best target round made,...other than the .45 acp, ...which is the best paper punching round made,...other than the cheaper, lower recoiling 9mm...., lots of good rounds out there depending on what you want to do with them.

Okay, let's be dogmatic (that's a pistol carried by a police dog.)

There are four useful pistol cartridges -- you can get rid of all the rest.

1. The .22 Long Rifle. Everyone needs a .22 pistol. If you don't have a pistol, and want to get one, get a .22 first.

2. The.357 Magnum. When you include the ability to shoot anything from full charge loads to powderpuff .38 Specials, it has unmatched versatility.

3. The .45 ACP -- the combination of this great cartridge and the great pistol designed for it is unbeatable for defense and combat.

4. The .45 Colt -- for the big stuff. Some heretics might like the .44 Magnum, but a Ruger Blackhawk with a heavy .45 bullet and a case full of Li'l Gun is hard to beat.

Of course I get it -- but where he trashes the 9mm, .40 and 10mm, I trash them ALL -- except for the .22, .357, .45 ACP and .45 Colt. That covers the spectrum. All other handgun cartridges suck! :-D

Put a 28-lb Wolff recoil spring (and the matching firing pin return spring) in your M1911 and you have a .45 Super -- for less than $10.
