ButlerFord45--Goex Cartridge grade powder is made at the same time and comes from the same lot as do the other granulations.
There are two things that set Cartridge grade powder apart from the other Goex grades. One is that it is held to a tighter specification as to grain size than the other granulations. Cartridge grade results from the powder being run through a screen that actually lies between 2f and 3f in grain size, thus giving less variation between the smallest and largest grains in a given can. This is done to achieve a more consistent burn rate. The other difference in Cartridge grade powder is that it is given an additional coating of graphite in the manufacturing process.
I very cheerfully shoot both Cartridge and 2f, depending on which is the most readily available. Shoot straight, rdnck.
