i got a phone call wednesday night from a friend who owns a sporting clays club and bird preserve. he had two dogs he needed to train with live birds. he thought of me !!!! CHA-CHING !!! i hung the phone up with an ear to ear grin, my wife thought we won the publishers clearing house lottery or something.
he had 5 birds, 4 pheasant and 1 chukkar, all egg eaters so they ended up being relegated to training. the seaon is closed now but the NY DEC allows dog training with live bird on preserves !!!!
so on wednesday i left the house at 2:00 pm, got there in 45 minutes and got ready ! we worked two dogs for 4 hours, what a treat, two beautiful setters, a warm afternoon, birds, my 410 handi, couldn't ask for more !!
