:-D BF45. Just to be absolutely posative,I opened up a can of 1f,2f,3f and Cart. grad. The Cartridge grade falls between the 1f and 2f grain size. Its a lot larger that the 2f Goex, and just smaller than the 1F,and correctly it does have more graphite on it. I am not sold on this powder because of the experiances I have had with it. I had purchased roughly 2o pounds of it last year, and found it to not be that consistant in my loadings of the .45-70. Now,you must understand that I am kinda new to this game, but have been reloading for a lotta years. Just new to the BPCR. I did get it to work ok in my .45-120. That was using 115 of cart. and a Lyman 405 flat point. I got good SDs with it,and less than a two inch group with that loading. In the .50-140,I would have to check, but my best so far have been with the 1f grade of Goex. My best loads in the .45-70 have been using 2f or 3f shooting 65 grns to 70 grns, with a .060 over powder, and an SPG lubed projo. The Projo is the Lyman Postell, and mine come out with WW around 527 grns. Without looking at my info I think the Chrony on that is about 1150fps.
