Hey Jeff, how ya doing?  Haven't heard from you in a while.

Nope haven't heard of anyone with a new 22-250.  Been kind of wondering if they are putting them out there yet.  I wonder if I could get a barrel for my Ultra?  They wouldn't put a .308 on it due to the fact that it was made too long ago.

My local FFL says he checked with his sixteen (!) distributors, nobody has moved anything out of their waiting lists ... I suspect the factory is in batch build mode, and that batch isn't started yet. :(

Maybe I'll get mine for Christmas.

Hello Everybody :D,  been lurking here for a while now and thought it was about time to introduce myself.  Currently have two SB1's and was looking for a .243 for coyotes.(my only centerfire rifle was a 7mm rem mag, a little much for 'yotes). Any how...
A couple weeks ago I picked up a H&R Ultra in 22-250.  Have not shot it yet as scope is still on order.

How long is the barrel?
Is it standard or bull?

Gun has a 22" Bull barrel and appears to be in (like) new/unfired condition, but was actually purchased used from an individual.

Will Have to call H&R tomorrow to find out date of manufacture.

For a while while there i thought I might have been the first kid on the block with the latest toy...
according to H&R my 22-250 was made in 1993, (or at least the receiver).  So at some point in the past was the 22-250 offered and then discontinued? why?  Any how I never would have guessed that this rifle was 11 years old.

Thanks, 'pup

I've heard it was due to durability problems. Either people shot it a lot more than they did their 30/06s or they were more likely to handload it too hot, or both. After a few thousand shots, the barrel would get loose.
