Sportsman 58

Reading the previous post about bringing a 58 back to life got me thinking.  My first 12 gage, a 58, is out in the safe and it needs some help.  It has a lot of friction in the gas system I believe.  I cleaned it as best as I could and replaced the main spring, but it is still acting up.  The action doesn't slam closed when released, but will drive closed if the gun is level.  When wingshooting at a high angle, it doesn't slam into battery.  I'd like to bring it back as a second clays gun if I could, but would need it to run through a few boxes between cleanings and still cycle.  If anyone has a suggested fix, I'd be very appreciative.  Thanks in advance....
