Anyone know if these can be safely fired in the Handi-Rifle .223????

They worked very well in my heavy-barreled .223; but they left a lot of lead in the bore.     Their generic boat-tailed bullets have bases that are not properly finished and when the lead cooks off them it winds up in the bore.....

The Remington/UMC's are properly finished off flat-based bullets that are less aerodynamic but don't lead the bore as badly.

Good hunting.

These were given to me the other day.   6 boxes of Winchester 5.56mm 55 gr. FMJ.   I wasn't sure if they were supposed to be fired in a civilian .223 or not.

  Thanks for the info.

H&R has a disclaimer about using millitary designated ammo in their rifles.  They caution against doing it and I believe it will void your warranty.  5.56 ammo can be loaded to a wide range of pressures and the brass can differ considerably.  I guess they want to err on the safe side (and keep the lawyers happy)
