:cb2: Man, I've seen scrimshaw work before, but that is really impressive. I don't need a new gun right now (Did I say that?!?), but I can see I sure need new grips!

Thanks Lloyd!

Its a lovely gun but why a FOUR INCH BARREL?!!  Isen't that 500 Linebaugh one of your basic hand cannons?  Will all the powder get burned before the bullet leaves the barrel?  It seems to me like this thing would have an incredible muzzle blast.

big bore short barrels are more effecient then small bores. Heavy bullets help too. Muzzle blast is no more then a .44 mag. Recoil doesnt seem any worse then my 4 5/8s or 5 1/2 in .500s

That is a beautiful revolver. Does it balance as good as it looks like it would?.
How much rotation do you get when you fire it with a gloved hand?.
Also, if you don`t mind me asking, why do you prefer the 500 over the 475, or do you own both?.

it balances real well in the hand better then a 5 1/2 gun. It does as you say rotate a little though :-D  If I could only have one id deffinately prefer the .500 in all reality either will do anything the other will do.  I just like those big holes!! Plus these day with the FA guns out there just about everyone has a .475 but the .500s are a little more unique. One advantage to the .475 is reloading equiptment and supplys are a little cheaper.
