My new 21 inch 357 max carbine came yesterday, and the 280 gr Lyman mold came today.
Left to right....357 Mag case
357 max with 210 gr cast and bullet
357 max with 280 gr Lyman and bullet
..last is a 280 gr Lyman shot through lumber with 3.0 grs of Red Dot.....vewy vewy quiet!

I don't know the twist rate.  So far I have loaded modest loads with the 210 cast bullets that should be about 1300 fps, I havent tried them yet.  I haven't tried any of the 280's for accuracy.....but I was thinking 30-40 yd max...if they perform out further, that would be great but I wasn't expecting it.  I got the 280 Lyman mold for my Whelen, but thought it would be really cool in the max.....with a straight walled case....don't have to worry about seating depth.

Urban Deer Hunting!  They just go Pop!  Not much noise at all, but when it arrives it makes a BIG hole and I would imagine quite a bit of knock-down energy for such a light load....I might have to try one backwards.....How would THAT be for Metplat?
