308 handi price
« on: June 26, 2004, 08:15:49 AM »
hi -

i stopped by "Herb Phillipsons" a local sporting goods shop and they had 1/4 of their gun rack filled with NEF/H&R stuff, not bad.

they a 308 handi, wood stock, for $219, and a 17 can HMR synthetic for $129. i know the 17HMR price is good, i paid $150 for mine at a small gun shop, but how does the 308 price sound ? if the price is good i may pick it up on the way home.

Figure Wal Mart charges about $190 and they charge 15% over cost.  So go from there.Maybe he'd go $220 out the door?

sg,
I just priced them a few days ago. My local dealer is getting about $195 for the Handi, and $234 for the Ultra Hunter. I'm still debating which to get. I love the idea of a gun rack 1/4 filled with H+R/NEF rifles. The only place I've seen that had a good supply of these rifles, was Gander Mountain. I like to get the feel of a gun before I buy it, but it's not always possible around here.
