Neat approach, but what are the advantages over a Dillon or Gracey?

Never used a Dillon and am not familiar with a Gracey. Have been using the RCBS power unit and it works good. But I can trim 4-5 times faster with this setup and its quiet. I have it set up to turn itself on and off also so it works just like the RCBS but it turns more RPM. I disliked the speed of the RCBS unit and the noise the gear box made was unbearable. I usually trim at least 1000 cases at a time so speed is fairly important to me. Plus it gave me something to build on a rainy day.  KN

Kn,

If you do this on a rainy day, what do you do over the winter season . . . build rockets for NASA ? :)  Very nice.

Thanks,
Actually several years back I did work as a tool maker for a Defense contractor. Now I work for Ford. It was a great job but I can make more money where I'm at now.   KN

If you happen to have a spare drill press lying around collecting dust..........Nice work!!!

Actually I bought that drill press at Cummins tools for $39. I have a lot less money in this setup than I did with the power unit on my RCBS.  KN

I set up my trimmer next to my drill press and run the trimmer with a flex shaft off the press, works great, doesn't take up any room to speak of and I still have the drill press to use when I need it.  That being said, what you have pictured is a marvel of "make do" to be proud of!  Nice going!

You must not be one of those tool makers that despise Engineers, because you have some nice Engineering work there also. :-)

I've seen my share of them that didn't know squat, but thats probably true in every walk of life. It's the people that think they know every thing and are not interested in listening to any thing that get my goat. I have had the pleasure of working with some very good ones too.   KN
