Here is the encore I have. It has a virgin valley barrel chambered for the weatherby 270 mag. I put a redfield illum. 3-10x50 scope on it with leupold dual dovetail mounts. I put a camo job on the scope and mounts also. It's a sweet shooting gun, and likes the barnes 140gr weatherby loaded bullets. It shot a  1/4" group with the factory ammo!

Nice looking rifle.  What is the barrel length, 26"?  Also is it a factory contour, 0.75" muzzle, or something different?  Thanks.

Great looking rifle.  I wish T/C would produce a camo over stainless steel barrels, in all calibers.

They've got a 209x50 camo barrel, but it's camo over blue.

Yes, very nice.  How is the recoil with this puppy?  Is that a Sims recoil pad on it?

This barrel is 26" and has a .725" std. factory contour barrel. The recoil is about like a 30-06 shooting a 180gr. bullet. I'm going to put a sims recoil pad on it, that should tone it down. The weatherby ammo is way to high. I need to get into reloading, but dont know nothing about it. Does anyone shoot this cal? Do you think the balastic tip bullets would pass through both front sholders at a range of 50 to 150 yards? :?

The whitetail up here in Tennessee will fall in the 140-200 pound range, see post above on bullet choice.

That is a very fast caliber.  I would not use Ballistic tips in it.  Better stick to a bonded or partition type bullet.  Unless you really like burger :)

I had to put high rings on this gun, because of the 50mm scope. In this cal. would the ballistic tips penetrate both front sholders if shot at 50 to 150 yards? I want a BIG HOLE in and out if shot in the sholders, or anywhere else.

No doubt you will have BIG HOLES  if you are shooting ballistic tips and hit bone or are shooting over 3000fps.  Thru the shoulders you would probably lose both of them to bloodshot mutilation.  They do shoot with great accuracy, but probably the only way I would shoot them anymore is at heavy weight and slower velocity.

Bobby, I put the camo on it myself. It's simple and cheap.

I THINK THE CAMO LOOKS GREAT.  I JUST ORDERED A 25WSSM FROM VVCG.  IT WILL BE BLUED AND I HAVE A CAMO STOCK AND FOREND FOR IT.  I AM TOPPING IT OFF WITH A LEUPOLD 4.5-14X40.  I THINK IT WOULD LOOK GREAT CAMO.
