Does anyone have a Super Blackhawk Convertable with the 357/9mm setup or the 45colt/45acp setup? How good are they?

If it's a 357/9mm setup or the 45colt/45acp setup it would be a Blackhawk and not a Super Blackhawk.    I do not own either convertable but have fired them and was just as happy with them as I am my own.  Not a big fan of the 9mm or 45ACP in a SA revolver myself.  Check at www.RugerForum.com and you'll find more folks with experience with these.

I have both the 9mm/357 and the 45 Colt/45 ACP.  The later is still unfired, just recently bought it.

The main reason I have the 357/9mm is that first, I wanted a 357 Blackhawk as it was the revolver I dreamed of as a teenager although these days I normally am into double action revolvers.  I got the convertable because I am doing some research into the history of the 9 m mParabellum cartridge and what makes the Luger reliable or unreliable.  As a result of the experiments in connection with this I end up with a lot of 9 mm loads that don't function too well in a self loader so I use them in the revolver.  That said, the revolver works well enough if you want to shoot 9 mm.

The only problem is that I need a revolver chambered for the 7.65 mm Parabellum.

Unspellable, maybe you could rechamber a 30 Carbine Ruger to 7.65 Luger.....

:cb2: I have two of the .357/9mm convertibles (one in each barrel length) and I really like 'em. Both of mine shoot the tightest groups with .357 ammo, but the 9mm shoots very well, too. For practice and plinkin' for fun, the Wolf 9mm stuff is cheaper than 9mm or .38 reloads. The only thing less expensive is a .22.

Sorry, no experience with the .45 Colt/ACP.

My 2¢ worth—get it! You'll love the versatility. (Especially if you don't reload!)

On second thought perhaps a rechamber needs the 32 H&R barrel for 30 Luger.  I wonder about 30 Mauser...  But revolvers have problems with bottlenecked cases, as they expand rearward and bind the cylinder similar to high primers, eating up the headspace.
