Armageddon?

How's everybody doing with all the fire?  No fires are really near my place , but with the reddish cast on everything and ash falling from the sky it looks downright spooky.  Hope everybody is safe.

Just sitting listening to the reports and looking at the maps.  Fire is two miles from the Chena Hot Springs resort.  It can easily go around the end of the highway.  Then there is nothing between it and North Pole, and Salcha except the Chena river.  The Chena is almost dry, and would not slow it much.  Definately won't stop it.  I've got my fingers crossed that the wind changes.

Nothing down here.  Lots of smog around Glenn Allen and towards Eureka.

Hope you guys have an emergency plan in place to get out of there.  You know the valuables......guns, fly rod, camoing gear, big game mounts, boat, camper..........OK, maybe the wife and kids too.

Good luck!

Dave,

It's hard to tell by your small picture that you use as an avator, but is that a cow moose or just a spike-fork bull? Can you post a larger image of that one?

I'm just curious since I'm a moose hunting fanatic. The name says it all! If have you any more moose pictures, please post them!

Smoke is gone and it's beautiful, like normal for Fairbanks.  All you folks can come back home now.

Thanks for the invite, but I'll stay in Southeast.  Deer season is almost upon us!
