RV,
Nice shootin!  Would those 2 groups in the lower left corner count as the black was cut on both of them.  I thought the holes had to be completely in the white circle?  Was the flier to the right of the skull in the center from one of your groups?  Those CZ's seem to shoot pretty good.  I have 2 452's that are just getting broke in but they both show promise.  They are collectively averaging about 3/8" at 30 yards with CCI ammo.  I think I may try some match ammo in them.

Marv it was so quiet I slept through the shooting.

I'd say you've definately got a keeper there.   Nice shootin'  You can't fault a gun that shoots like that at all.  What ammo does it like?

Marv, RV is AOK!  That thing he was shooting was so quiet, I slept right through it.

That sounds boring doesn't it?

He shows me a lot of respect.  I guess it's because I am old enough to be his father. :o)

It's great to hear from you!

The ammo is Wolf match extra.

That flier low right of the skull was the first shot with the CZ after mounting the scope. I adjusted it and the next shot was in the white clean at 8o'clock. I adjusted the scope twice more during the 5 shot group and they all stayed in the white. My first max was while I was sighting the gun in. I was astonished. The next two five shot groups were close, but clean. The paper tore into the black due to humidity, not because the bullet struck black. The targets that are true and clean were after the fouling was set in the barrel i guess.

Regardless, I'm extremely happy with this rifle. Dj kept on me until I bought it, and I'm glad he did.

Are those white circles only 1/2"?
They look kinda big for some reason.

Y thank you Mitch, that's as good a compliment as you can give a shooter. The groups are small enough to make those half inch dots look larger.
They are only 1/2". The CZ is a better shooter than I am.

these are some 50 yd groups with the CZ.

That's amazing, RV. Catch a day with no wind and you should max the BDT at 50 yards with little problem. One of those groups was heartbreakingly close as is.

When I got my CZ, I thought it was a bit expensive. Having had it a year, I consider them one of the world's last great bargains. This being the NEF board, I gotta add that the Sportster is another bargain. Mine won't quite shoot with the CZ, but it comes close and cost a third as much.

I think believe an 18x scope would help. the 12x I have is good, but I have to be better to bring out the best in the CZ.

Ben also shot a 50 yard group that was small enough to max the target but it was slightly off center.
Ben is now saving his money for a HM2 rifle. I told him I'd get the scope for it but he needs to buy the rifle.

Where'd ya get the target?  It is downloadable from somewhere?  I've got something similar but they're 1" circles.

These are similar with 1/2" white centers.

The site that had the download isn't there anymore.
PM your address, and I'll mail you three versions of the BDT.

Did you get them from the Top Gun page originally?
http://www.huntingcentral.net/topgun/topgun.htm

Here are the Black Death Challenge rules:

Here's the target:

I've got a 10/22 that I put one of those cheapie Adams & Bennett barrel/Hogue Overmold stock combos on.  With good match ammo, I think it'll do well.  I found a target at www.mytargets.com that is 1/2" black dots on a white background.. easier on the ink cartridge.  Should be fun to give it a try.

the CZ rifles are a great bargin.i would compair them to the Kimbers and some others that cost more than twice the price.the workmenship is very good and the blueing and overall finish is wright in there too.accuracy is in there with the higher dollar rifles, you cant go wrong with one.

another good one that was out there for a while was the JW 15  Norinco that was imported from China.its the copy of the CZ.great price on them when you could get them (under $100.00).these rifles are great shooters but the overall finish isnt as good.even with their stained pallet wood stocks and poor finish of the metal they will out shoot most other rifles in their price range.my sons rifle will max the BDT with no trouble at 25yds.i still see them off and on at gun shows.

Yeah, Jeff, but you don't see them for no hundred dollars. Folks learned.

And you don't find no cheap Remington 581s, neither. That was the last of the reasonably priced great shooting American .22 bolts.
