My Winchester 94 likes 33g of IMR 4064 and a Sierra 170g bullet, for a velosity of  2130 fps. Most of my loading has been done for bolt action and single shot .30-30's, so it will do you no good for the Marlin. I have had good luck with H335 powder, and that may be a good place to start, but Win 748 and Hodgdon's BLC-2 are good too. Good luck and have fun.

RE-7 is a wonderful powder for 30-30 loads in the 150 grain neighborhood. I like the hornaday and  speer 150 grain flat point jacketed bullets for deer hunting. I tend to shy away from  premium bullets because at slightly lower velocities I have more confidence in the thinner jacketed standard bullets expanding well.

I also cast bullets from a LEE mould and a LEE sizer for cheap practice. the LEE equipment seems fine for me, and is the least expensive in the Midway USA catalog.

Win Case
Win LR Primer
30.0gr IMR 3031
170gr Hornady® FP

With this load & my circa 1976 Marlin® Mdl 336C I can shot 1" groups @ 100yd from the bench; each day, all day, & every day.
