Hey PJ? Did you ever chrony the 445. I have a 10" 444 marlin, when loaded properly, will leave creases in your forehead if you don't parry the recoil! Factory Remington 265's bend the elbow and stand the gun straight up in the air. I love my 'Hand-cannon', I just never chrony'd it and was curious. I took a white-tail doe with it. The deer was gut-shot by a friend of mine's '06 and I tracked her down in the snow. She left me get to within about 15 yards when she jumped up and started to run. I shot on the leap, she died on the down step. My aim was about 1" from being a perfect 'Texas heart shot'. Being in forensic pathology, tracking the bullet channel was easy-it went right up her spine, out her extended neck about 2" posterior to her right ear. Needless to say, she died instantly and there was no bullet recovery. Some Hunter's don't realize the penetration capability of the .44 slugs. The damage to the spinal column was horrendous. For a slug to go thru that much tissue AND bone and still exit, it incredible.
