Tad,
I honestly don't know what rate of twist my barrel has and there is a reason for that. I had always assumed that it had a 1:28 twist. Let me tell you the story about my barrel.
I bought it used from Bullberry's "inventory" barrel list on their web site. Evidently a customer had ordered the barrel and it was too much for him to handle so Fred took the barrel back. The customer obviously didn't know too much about blackpowder either because he sent it back to Fred uncleaned! Because of this fellow's ignorance my barrel has some pitting. I was told up front about this by Bullberry and they told me that if it wouldn't shoot then they would give me my money back.
Well, I have been very pleased with the accuracy of the gun. With only a 2X scope using the 250 grain Hornady SST and 100 grains of GOEX FFG I was able to get several groups of 1" at 50 yards. I consider this to be a 75 or so yards weapon and that kind of accuracy is more than acceptable for me. I have also tried various loads using Pyrodex and Powerbelt bullets that group so well in my rifle, but this has been the most accurate load so far. And as you can tell from the photo's, it works!
If you have a specific twist rate in mind, as long as a barrel blank is available in the caliber and twist that you want, then a barrel can be had. For enough $$ of course!
Good luck!
