Guys,
Recently acquired a Brno ZG47 and its barrel is dead as a dodo. Which is great as I can now rebarrel into something more interesting. I've choosen the 8x68S as it was a "special order" option in the ZG47s, I have no "long-range" medium bore and a real curiosity about the 8mms. Anyone have an 8x68S and care to share their experiences?

Good caliber, components aren't the easiest to get on this side of the pond.  Basically a little slower then the 8 Rem Mag when the two are handloaded.  2900 fps with a 200 gr bullet is quite do-able.  Ralph Martini of Martini-Hagn in BC usually has components. - Dan

Great caliber.A few weeks ago,i talked to Ralph Martini and he  is actually thinking of building a rifle for himself in 8-68S.If you are interested in getting a barrel installed in 8-68,Ralph is the one to contact.He garantees his work.My brother got Ralph to install a barrel for him in a long range rifle and man does it shoot.He has great knowledge and the skills to back it up.He also knows about precision since he was a former sniper in the German Mountain Division. :grin:
