Gentlemen,
I've never had a close up look at an Ultra Comp.
Is the muzzle break removable ? I hear it increases muzzle blast.

The only Ultra Comp I've seen was in 30-06, I believe, and the compensator is not removable; it's the last 2" or so of the barrel. It is supposed to be louder, but I kind of like the idea if it reduces recoil. At the range, I can use it to get back at all the guys with AR-15's and their 16" barrels...
Life was so much simpler when I thought I knew everything...

I'm pretty sure it's threaded, but removing it without scratching it may not be easy. Not to mention the fact that the threaded barrel end is not going to look very pretty without the brake.

Thanks Guy's,
I'm thinking of buying one in .270. The importer here still has a couple and I can get one for the equivalent of $320 US.
