Optics for 209X50 Pistol
« on: January 14, 2003, 05:49:53 AM »
What do you guys recomend? I am currently leaning towards a Burris 2-7X with Leoupold QR base and rings. But I am also thinking about Red dot options.
It will be used for deer hunting with shots of 50-100 yards possible.
My current load is 70 grains 777 with 240 grain XTP

thanks
Bob  :-)

I used to own a 209X50 pistol an rifle barrel and was very happy with the sights they came with.  I generally don't like scopes on anything that is going to be used inside 100yds.

I guess if you have trouble seeing or using open sights and have to use a scope, I would stick to something without magnification.  At those short distances FOV is everything.  You would also get the benefit of unlimited eye relief in an unmagnafied scope.

Just a thought.

I use a Holosight on mine. I can put on a rifle stock without changing scopes.
