Bigfoot hunt?
« on: July 12, 2004, 06:14:44 PM »
Hi guy`s
Got to tell ya about my big Bigfoot hunt, Sunday night. Two of my bud`s cam over and we got the nightvision out and headed for the bottoms. The night was very starry night, the stars seemed like they were only 1/4 mile away. There was no moon, but the stars, made up for it. Anyhow upon arriving in the fields, we noticed the usually, deer, skunks, etc. We couldn`t see very well with the nighvision cause of all the foliage. We are ahead of rain for the year and the grass grows so fast, I can hear it growing behind the lawnmower, as I mow over the lawn.LOL Results are very high weeds in the bottoms.
We decided to park on a old abandod county road near the property, and which overlooks several open pastures. We stood and sat for a couple of hours, not seeing anything except for the occasionally coyote, ground hog`s and deer. All of a sudden, we heard some movement along the bar ditches and something bumped into my leg.  I gave out a hugh shout, about something I dare not print, for the innocent kids that might be reading these report. Yes sir, I thought old Bigfoot done and got me by the foot  Well I jumped agains my buddy which was at this time leaning agains a barb wire fence,  least to say barb wire and flesh don`t feel good. The critter still has a hole of my foot, and I`m still jumping a jig, sort of like one of them Irish dance groups, only there wasn`t any music or bagpipes being played. :bye:  Now my other buddy was in back of my Kiwasaki mule with the rifle and night vision, and I`m a hollering for him to get the flash light and see what this is, cause I just know that Bigfoot`s got me. He flashed the light at the ground and there`s two armadiool`s trying to climb my pant`s leg.  The buddy in the mule is laughing so hard, he about fell out, and the other one on the barb wire fence is also, only he sure would like for me to get off him, so he can get unhooked from the barb wire fence
Well after that we made so much noise laughing about the incident that there would be no Bigfeet for miles, and we heading back to the house at 3 oclock in the morning.  Oh, yeah, once the armadilos saw me, they took off for parts unkown, ( hope back to Texas) :-D

Good story, I'd a like to been there to LMAO!!! Reminds me of the time I stayed out huntin' til O'dark thirty and was walkin the 3 miles back out on the no-vehicles-allowed timber company forest road. About the last mile it was gettin pretty dark and I started hearing something behind me and it sounded real close so I picked up the pace and still kept hearing it....I was gettin' kinda worrysome over this sound, everytime I stopped, it would stop too....after several minutes of this I finally realized it was something in my fanny pack that was makin the noise and my mind and the dark was just makin something outa nothing....My biggest mistake was talkin about it when I got to camp......

Funny how when your hunting something , every noise is made by whatever your hunting . If your camping or walking along at dark , every noise is made by a bear . :)
If an animal activist is being mauled by a bear should we stop it , or , " let nature take its course?"
