Well I had a problem with my "Black Hole" target today. I shot through it and now I have a big problem with a carbon arrow stuck in my fence.
I knew the target was getting soft in the center and decided to shoot it only at 40 yards becasue the arrows were going in up to the fletching. This morning I shot at about 42 yards and when the arrow hit I heard a loud "CRACK" and thought to myself what the heck did I hit! How did I miss that huge target? Yet I watched the arrows flight right into the center of the Bullseye!
When I walked down I could not see the arrow? Then I looked behind the target and saw the arrow stuck into the pasture fence. Now I have an arrow which went clean trough the "Black Hole" target and flew further beyond it, penetrating a pressure treated 2X4 at what must be close to 50 yards from where I was standing when I shot
With A 125 grain FIELD POINT!
I'm not sure I need to hunt with more draw weight then a 62 pound bow and a good sharp broadhead. I normally hunt with 65-68 pounds and practice with 60-62 pounds. I'm thinking I can just hunt and practice with 60-62 pounds after seeing this penetration!
