reblueing question?
« on: July 14, 2004, 07:41:44 AM »
considering fixing up my rem 700adl. after 20 years it has some marks on it. i would like to get the action, receiver and barrel reblued with a satin/matte finish like on the rem 700cdl or mountain rifle. also would like to get the bolt rejeweled. does anyone have an idea what price range i should pay for the reblueing and the rejeweling?

Brownells shows a matte or bead blast finish, blued with a price range of $95 to $145. This was for a rifle beiong hot salts blued. They list jeweling the bolt (engine turning) as being done at the hourly rate which lists at $40 to $80 per hour. I would guess and hour to an hour and a half to jewel the bolt, depending on present condition.
