Need some feed back on the New Ruger P345. I had the P89 and did not like it ...traded it for the Sig  P239 9mm. This new Ruger sure does look inviting...let me know what you guys think 'bout it !!!!!!!!!

Hi there Border Bandit, :D
How's things down south? Bandit, I haven't bought it YET. I feel like
I won't be able to hold off much longer. I found 1 in Academy Sports in
Austin. My usual haunts said only the "Big Boys" could get them. I saw the report on them and it was great, especially on reliability. I need a new
pistol for carry. My license renews next May, so I need to do something soon.

The pistol certainly looks good! It feels better than the previous series. I REALLY like the .45acp round. If I'm going to be forced to use my carry pistol, I want something that is going to put'em down not chap'em off. I actually like the new features EXCEPT the magazine lockout. If I loose or damage a clip, I'd rather not have to just depend on throwin' the dern gun.
The round in chamber indicator IS a good feature and NOT distracting. I have small hands, the redesigned grip is really better than before but still
larger than comfortable for me, but I'll be shooting 2 handed anyway.
Academy Sports had it priced at $449.00. I wanted to compare it to another pistol I had in mind. I've decided to go with the Ruger.

hey Charlie 1947, got my P345 at the Saxet gun show in San Antonio. I didn't get there till Sunday AM. I could only find one left so I snatched it for 389.00 + Tax. There was another dealer there who said he would bring me one to the next San Antonio show for 379.00 + tax CASH. I have shot about 50 rounds thru mine and really like it. I had 2 stoppages on the first two clips but after that It functioned FINE !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Really nice pistol for the money !!!!!!!!!!

Hi  :D Border Bandit,
Hey buddy, you did good! The Austin and San Antonio shows are both Saxet, San Antonio is bigger. I just might try that in Sept. I'm surprised you got that much discount since the gun is so new. I'm glad you liked it. If
I might ask, was the problem the same problem both times, what were they? One thing I couldn't tell was the trigger pull. Is the trigger such that you can stay on target well?

problem happened on the second to last round both times (1st two magazines fired)...but after that pistol was fine. The trigger pull is a vast improvement over any other ruger semi I have fired....I was surprised at the price also,  a dealer in Uvalde priced it to me at $479.00. I was up on the LLano River so I priced one at a gun shop outside of Burnet...he wanted $459.00. However, the one I bought was the only one I saw Sunday AM at the gun show !!!!
