Reloading success
« on: July 19, 2004, 09:24:08 AM »
I have been reloading now for about 4 months, and yesterday, my first shot taken at a groundhog was a kill.
( I know it's not an H&R) but...........My Ruger M77 6mm rem. 85 gr sierra BT over 35 gr of BW-36. 135 yard neck shot.

This load has been very accurate .813" at 100 yards.

This was my first shot at any animal with a reload.

Sweet success  8)

It is a memorable experience! I still remember my first deer taken with a .44 mag. handload. It sort of brings it all together.

RV;

Save that case that you used to make your first kill. I've been told that it's good luck to put it up and save it. My cousin who is a WWII veteran told me to do it when I got my first deer with my .41 mag. He's been reloading since the fifties. Mine stays on my antique dresser in my spare bed room. Like Big Blue said it's a lasting memory that means a lot.
Congrats  :grin:
