What is the difference between stainless and Armor Alloy?
« on: July 19, 2004, 01:30:43 PM »
Hi Everyone,
This is my first post.  I have picked up a .44 mag 10" barrel at a gun show and was hoping to use it on my blued Contender frame.  However the hinge pin doesn't fit.  It was then that I saw the AA on the bottom of
the barrel.  Can this be modified to fit my frame?  Thanks for your help.

I have a AA barrel that was modified to fit a blue frame.  Mine was bought from EABCO and I don't know if they did the modification or T/C did.  I know it can be done and it does not cost a fortune to do it.  I am sure someone else can clue us in to the proper procedure for having it done.  It probably is no more than shipping it off to T/C for the conversion.

I've done it myself to two barrels.  It's not hard to do.  I prefer the AA frames and barrels to SS myself.

PM me for details if you wish or do the search Chris recommends.
