? about Win. Model 94 Timber
« on: July 19, 2004, 04:37:52 PM »
I just noticed that Winchester is chambering the Model 94 Timber in a .450 Marlin. Has anyone seen or used this rifle?  What is the quality of the new Winchester 94s?  After owing 5 Marlins in the last couple of years, to me their quality doesn't seem to be all that great.  Any info on this would be appreciated.

Who's quality doesn't seem to be that great, Winchester's or Marlin's? I've had trouble with two Winchester model 94 rifles. I own two Marlin's, a model 336CS in 35 Rem. and a 444. I haven't had any problem's with either of them so far!

I'm confused, Are you saying you have had trouble with you marlins ?If that is in fact what you are saying i would like to hear what kind of problems you have had. I have quite a few Marlins and have never had a moment of trouble. In fact it has been the other way around. Let me know what has happened that prompted you to make that post. Good luck to ya and stay safe..............Joe................

The quality problems I've had with my Marlins has been mainly cosmetic, with the exception of my SS Guide Guns. One had a crack in the chamber and it only had factory loads fired in it. My other SS Guide Rifle's sights are canted to the left and has several tool marks. As for function they all operate fine :-) .

BTW has anyone got any info on the Win 94 Timber ?

Thanks :D
