Anyone know where I can find some 7.62x54R boxer primed brass?  Lapua is too expensive and Midway says their Winchester brass won't be in stock till October.

thanks,
Ian

Graf's search result links will never load for me.  I found the brass and bullets manually only to have their checkout page crap out on me.  They really need to look at Midway and revamp their website accordingly.

they did have what I was looking for tho... thanks.

One question before I call them... How is their house brand brass?  Any good?

thanks again,
Ian

Agree with you.  Paying $20 for 20 cases is too steep for me.  Our local gun store has loaded S&B for $10/20 and it's boxer primed.  Couldn't pass that deal up.

Gentlemen

Try Buffaloarms.com - their latest flyer lists "7.62x54R Russian Cases #Hor76254R...$17/50 $30/100

That's a whole lot better than a dollar each!

Their brass is ok, I've never heard of any problems with it and the stuff I've brought from them seems good.

Have you / do you have cookies enabled when you are on their website? They make you turn on cookies to go anywhere except the top page even if you aren't buying anything. Yet another way to piss-off customers.

I got it to work from another computer.  My connection is really slow... maybe that or the cookie thing was the problem.

thanks,

I reload three brands of 7.62x54 R brass by my MN 1891/30 rifle.

Winchester metric, that I purchased as loaded ammo.  Century brass that I pruchased as loaded ammo, and Graff and sons ammo.

I like the Winchester the best, graff second and Century third.  The Century ammo had a crimp around the primer that had to be removed.  It was a pain to remove.  The Winchester was just sweet from the get-go.  The Graff's is nice and I have no complaints.

I bought most of my Winchester and the one box of Century at gunshows for under $10/box of 20.  The Graffs I bought over the internet.  Midway has Winchester metric loaded ammo.

The biggest problem I have had with reloading 7.62x54 ammo was that my Lee dies only had a .308 expander ball.  I needed to take the .310 expander/depriming pin from my 7.62x39 Lee die set and install it in the 7.62x54 sizing die.  This allowed me to later seat .310 to .312 bullets more easily.
