i was groundhog hunting with my .243 and expected to be taking some long shots based on the fields i chose. iw as walking a fencerow when i saw something moving out of the corner of my eye. i looked down and sure as hell there was a groundhog there and it damn near ran into my leg. it would have too, if i hadnt stepped back. when i stepped back i also shrugged my rifle off my shoulder and had JUST enough time to point and shoot from about 5 feet, and missed by inches. if i would have had time to use the scope he would have been dead meat but i had to guess, point and click i guess you'd call it. lol
when i looked down, there was a new round in the chamber and the safety was on. i was impressed that i had trained myself that well but also impressed to see that i worked the bolt so fast that i ALMOST had another shot at him before he dove into the hole 10 feet to my right.
so thats a new one on me, getting charged by a groundhog lol.
