I failed to mention that I also intend to try out the 12 ga. Pardner that I had sawed-off to 23" with some 2 3/4" Brenneke slugs. There are areas here that are shotgun only and therefore get little use during the actual rifle seasons. There are a lot of deer in these areas that get shot at a lot during archery seasons but since there is so much land that isn't shotgun only then they get left alone during the 16 day rifle season. Where I usualy hunt the traffic really picks up during rifle season (public land) so the deer get smart and become nocturnal or just head out entirely after about the third day. So I'm gonna try some of the shotgun areas during that time. If I get my 20 ga. (recently purchased from MSP Ret) drilled, tapped, railed, and scoped by then I'll be trying it also.
Sourdough - I have a friend that will be arriving in Alaska for some visiting on the opening day of Caribou season, good timing huh? He was wondering about fees i.e., non-resident tags, permits, etc. Can you help us out with some info? Thanks
